DUTCH RELATIONS WITH CHINA

The Netherlands Minister in Chungking has communicated to the Chinese Government that his Government view with sympathy and understanding the introductory steps undertaken by the British and American Governments to relinquish their extra- territorial rights in China.

ANEP'S Diplomatic Correspondent recalls that steps in a similar direction had already been taken by the Netherland Government in 1931. The Netherland Government are prepared to reopen negotiations on the subject at an appropriate time and place on a basis of equality and reciprocity.
